Humour, irony, sarcasm, wit, and absurdity.
Since its debut in 2009, 7 Days has become a household staple of New Zealand television. Following a successful upgrade to a new prime-time spot, our task was to revitalise the show’s brand identity, fresh for the new 2026 season.
The refresh embraces classic Vaporwave motifs; a mix of Grecian statues, uncanny floating objects, Y2K-era technology, and neon-lit gridscapes — all infused with a hyper-vibrant digital colour palette. CRT scan lines complete the look, evoking the texture and nostalgia of early digital screens.
We developed a flexible identity system that could work seamlessly across digital and physical touchpoints — from animated backdrops within the show, to printed collateral, merch, and promotional items.
The system naturally extended into a complete re-skin of the 7 Days set. The new design carried the identity into a broadcast environment through a blend of 80s-inspired typography and lo-fi imagery — bringing Vaporwave into 3D reality.
