Founded by Mahala Herron, Ceremonium is a proudly independently black-female-owned edibles brand based out of California. At its core, Ceremonium exists to create a new narrative around cannabis — one that quietly challenges stereotypes and dismantles stigma rooted in cannabis’ history; one elegant chocolate at a time.

Within a saturated industry, Ceremonium offers a fresh perspective: independent, craft-driven, premium-grade, ingredient-conscious, and unapologetically
Black-female-owned. 

In collaboration with Ceremonium, we created a brand story based on the product experience itself — an embodiment of what we dubbed the art of ritual. Ceremonium transforms cannabis consumption into a ceremony: a moment of connection, reflection, and presence. With premium cocoa sourced from Africa, Ceremonium’s story draws from a rich tapestry of cultural symbolism, depth, and visual allure.

In African lore, the leopard reigns supreme — a symbol of strength, grace, and leadership. In a similar vein, the Ceremonium visual identity takes inspiration from the leopard’s spotted coat and expressive mark-making; reminiscent of the natural African environment. Every visual element is intentional, layered, and evocative.

The Ceremonium packaging is designed to feel distinctly premium and tactile — thick, fibrous card stock, textured surfaces, and special finishes such as embossing communicate craftsmanship at first touch. The unboxing experience itself is ritualistic, unfolding through gentle movements that release each chocolate from its mold with care and reverence.
