Identity, Spatial

Elsie café is named after the proprietor’s grandmother — a sentimental touch that inspired us to embody bygone days in a contemporary manner.

The hand-crafted, retro-styled type, set in a classic neon sign, provides a vintage-inspired, on-trend solution that brightens this small space on an otherwise grey inner-city street.

We replicated the union of old-meets-new in Elsie’s interior design. Neatly stacked vintage National Geographic magazines and a brightly-coloured coffee machine carry accents of vibrant canary yellow, while lush green potted plants add a welcoming element of life and texture to this urban concrete corner.

The combination of Elsie’s brand and interior design creates an oasis of calm in a hectic city, radiating light and warmth with familiar old-world charm.

Winning an Eat Drink Design Award for Best Cafe Design was the cherry on top for us.
