Wonder Display
Wonder Display is a hand-drawn typeface, developed for the With Wonder brand identity and influenced by graffiti and street art.
The organic, exaggerated shapes reflect the spontaneous, emotional, and often unpredictable nature of creativity. They channel the unfiltered way young people make art when given the freedom to explore.
Wonder Display was created in collaboration with our client Breathing Space, designed to give the With Wonder visual identity its own unique voice. Used across the brand, it serves as a graphic entry point into creativity that feels grassroots and evokes self-expression without rules; the kind that emerges in moments of play, emotion, or healing.
A typographic expression of balance between a tension of opposites: chaos and calm, creativity and clarity, emotion and structure.
Paired with Meno Display — a restrained serif and our chosen supporting typeface — the two styles embody a visual metaphor for what With Wonder offers: a space where raw creativity is held safely within a thoughtful structure; guided, but never prescriptive; open, but forever supported.
A set of expressive emojis, that feature a range of open-ended feelings, are an extension of the hand-drawn typeface. Built into the glyph set for easy-use by our client, each blob-like character combines loose, expressive shapes with minimal facial cues, reflecting a spectrum of moods without labelling them.
We dream of a world where healthcare practitioners and medical professionals prescribe art and creativity, in different forms, to care for our mental health; a world where self expression and healing through art & creativity can happen everyday, across Aotearoa.
